Congratulations on completing a long year of esports. With great pride I want to thank all the schools that attended and made the 2026 African Gaming Championship a massive success. The event, students skills and experience has continued to grow since 2024 into the largest esports LAN tournament in Africa. The full results are contained in this report as well as our three R60 000 winners for the bursary to North-West University.

The students are noticably putting up a challenge in the all ages division. I would like to highlight that the top 4 EA FC players consisted of 3 under 18s. The 4th place in Rocket League and 8th place in Fortnite Trios were also high school teams. I am extremely proud that consistent inter-school competitions and infrastructure is closing the gap and increasing the overall skill of our nation.

We hosted over 40 students this year at AGC with 268 students competing over the week. Our online league also spiked at over 4 500 students competing in different games across South Africa (and we are still finishing up the CURRO leagues).
