Wrapping up AGC for NITRO ASL
Two weeks later and the dust is far from settled. We at ACGL are extremely proud to have hosted teachers, students and players from all over South Africa to take part in our inaugural AGC event. The competition was fierce as students battled in what for many was their first LAN experience.
The overall event hosted around 350 players across four titles. Over the course of the weekend 8 distinct tournaments were played with 42 medals being awarded. A special mention to the 5 schools that made the interprovincial trek across from Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.
We were happy that teachers and coaches made friendships and connections between eachother and staff from gaming organisations and universities. One of the highlights relayed from a teacher was students meeting professional players and our dynamic casters. They managed to take the opportunity to get items signed. While online competition is a major part of esports in South Africa we are humbled to have provided that experience and the camraderie that comes with it at AGC.
